Bring a pot of salt water to a boil. Add the green beans and blanch for about 2 minutes, until crisp tender. Drain and run cool water over them to stop the cooking process.
In a large pan over medium heat, melt one tablespoon of olive oil. Sauté the onion for 10-15 minutes, until golden and caramelized.
Stir in the remaining one tablespoon olive oil and the almonds. Let the almonds toast for about 1 minute.
Stir in the green beans and toss. Season with salt and pepper, and the juice from 1/2 a lemon.
