This maple glazed paleo donut recipe is so EASY. Find out how to make paleo donuts with almond flour in 30 minutes, including the maple donut glaze! Nobody will ever guess these are paleo!
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
Place the eggs, almond flour, coconut flour, maple syrup, vanilla bean powder, and baking soda into a large mixing bowl. Stir all the ingredients together until fully incorporated.
Spoon your mixture into well-greased donut molds. Your molds should be filled to approximately half full. Don't overfill the molds or the mixture will spill over the sides and your donuts will not bake properly.
Place the donuts in your preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes. The donuts are ready when they are golden in color, firm to the touch and a knife point inserted into the donut comes out clean.
Allow donuts to cool completely before flipping the donut mold over and pressing gently to release the donuts.
Add the butter and coconut sugar to a heavy bottomed saucepan and heat over a gentle heat, until the butter has melted and the sugar has completely dissolved.
Add the maple syrup and continue to heat over a gentle heat, until the glaze starts to thicken and the mixture coats the back of a spoon.
Remove the pan from the heat and allow to cool slightly.
Add a tablespoon of coconut cream and stir to incorporate. This will give your glaze a beautiful shine.
If you want to make a slightly thicker glaze or you want your glaze to set harder, simply stir in half a teaspoon of arrowroot powder mixed with a little water, into the warm glaze mixture and stir thoroughly.
Allow the glaze to cool.
To glaze the donuts, dip the donuts into the glaze and twist the donut as you lift it out of the glaze. This prevents the glaze from dripping.
Serving size: 1 large donut
The number of donuts that this paleo donut recipe makes will depend on the size of your donut mold. It could make anywhere from 6-8 donuts. The molds I used above made 6 large donuts, and nutrition info is based on 6.
